Rock On 2 is a sequel to movie Rock On, produced by Excel
Entertainment. The movie is directed by Shujaat Saudagar and stars Arjun
Pampal, Purab Kohli, Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor,Prachi Desai.
Rock On 2 has a nice plot, provided we remove the irritating songs that pop up every other minute. The acting is good, all the character have a haunted look on their faces. The burden of the past is too heavy to carry. In the movie no one seems to be at ease with their past.
Aditya is guilt ridden, haunted by
the suicide of a fan. He shifted to Meghalay, where he forms a
cooperative for the farmers and run school for children. Joe is the owner of plush night club, plus he
also judges a reality show. KD make jingles for the clients. But everyone is
dissatisfied somewhere. Enters Shraddha Kapoor, who makes music, without the
knowledge of her renowned musician father. The father is also shown, struggling
with his inner demons. Finally, destiny makes them to cross each others path, in
the process some ugly skeletons fell out of the closet. Also shown, in the
movie, is corruption, bureaucracy, local hooligans etc. But then the best
intents win, I think half of our films and literature thrive on this, same goes
here.
Though the pace of the movie is slow, and
frequent flashbacks irritate a lot. The songs are neither melodious nor worth
humming. The length of the songs gets on your nerves. If emotions and patience
are your cup of tea, then this movie is worth watching.
